The Work at the Intersection
Pattern Hunters LLC is a public scholarship and accountability research platform that produces Foundation Analyses — long-form public scholarship applying the H.T.I.L.G. framework (History, Theory, Intersectionality, Law, Geography), an original analytical methodology developed by Andrea Hagan, for examining structural patterns in Louisiana and beyond.
Our work lives at the intersection of criminology, community engagement, and institutional accountability. Andrea's commentary has been published in the Louisiana Illuminator, The Lens, The Conversation, the Baton Rouge Advocate, the Washington Post, and others. A criminology textbook chapter is forthcoming.

Secondary Education Program
Three Roles. One Mission.
Designed for traditional public schools, Title I schools, AP programs, and IB programs — Diploma Programme, MYP, and CAS. Andrea brings nine years of Newark public school teaching experience and four years as IB DP and MYP teacher and CAS Coordinator in Baton Rouge. Pilot program launching fall/spring 2026–2027.
Visiting Scholar
Andrea comes into the classroom as a practitioner bringing live public scholarship to students. This is the entry point for every district partnership.
Professional Development Facilitator
Andrea trains faculty to use the H.T.I.L.G. framework in their own classrooms year-round. Half-day and full-day workshops for history, civics, AP, and IB faculty.
Curriculum Partner
Pattern Hunters embedded in the district on retainer. H.T.I.L.G. framework integrated into AP and IB course offerings. Annual curriculum planning and consulting.

Pattern Hunters is building toward a national infrastructure for public scholarship — moving from school to school and district to district the way a touring artist moves from city to city. District partnerships. HBCU network anchored at Southern University. Community-based participatory research. A national ecosystem where published scholarship, community research, and classroom teaching feed each other in real time.
